Your Magical Mountaintop Wedding
When you "Rent The Ranch", you may entertain parties, or host weddings and receptions for up
to 50 guests indoors, or up to 100 guests outdoors. By renting the ranch for a minimum of
4 nights (winter, spring, summer, and fall) or 7 nights (holiday season), the entire property
becomes yours to enjoy and share with your guests. The
ranch provides a lovely setting for your wedding ceremony and/or reception, and additionally
makes a perfect place for your other events such as rehearsal dinner, BBQ, brunch, or simple
family gatherings.
Lodging for up to 16
This magnificent log lodge-style home accommodates 16+ people in 5 bedrooms, allowing you to house
your immediate family, bridal party, or out of town guests in an exceptional manner. This is a
luxury residence, with amenities such as 3 fireplaces, large outdoor hot tub, Jacuzzi tubs in some
baths, sauna, pool table in the game room, gourmet kitchen, and artistic details in every facet of
this custom designed and built home.
Eagle's Nest Honeymoon Suite
Many Brides and Grooms choose to stay at the home themselves, enjoying the privacy and luxury of the
"honeymoon suite", found atop a spiral staircase encircling an ancient tree with its eagles' nest.
Located on the opposite side of the grand entrance hall, this suite is somewhat separate from the
other areas of the home.
Your Wedding --- Your Choice
Because you "rent the ranch" you have all the choices as to the details of your wedding. It is up to
you how you want to entertain your guests. You may choose your own caterer, provide your own
liquor, and your own entertainment, after all, it is your wedding and your facility. We are happy to
assist in your plans by recommending caterers, photographers, etc.
Summer Weddings
In the Summer
months, a rented tent provides semi-enclosed seating for up to 100 guests (the cost per weekend is $1,425).
The tent is lighted and heated and can accommodate tables for a sit-down dinner, a buffet, and/or a band and dance floor.
Just beyond the tent,
there is a slightly raised deck platform which is a perfect place for the ceremony (if you choose to have
that here also), or band, or announcements, etc. The backdrop for this platform is the breathtaking view
of 4 of Colorado's highest peaks, a fabulous photo opportunity.
The 1,350 square foot tent is placed upon a 30 foot by 45 foot concrete patio, with paved or stoned
walkways to and from the house, surrounded by lawn and landscaping. This
patio area is just steps from the decks, patios, outdoor bar, and entertainment rooms of the home. The
lower level entertainment and game room features a wet bar, ideal for drawing guests into the home, to
enjoy all aspects of this exquisite setting.
Winter Weddings
If your group is 50 or less, a lovely buffet dinner may be served in the main great room and
dining room. This will require a little rearranging of furniture, and extra tables brought in by
caterers. If a fall or winter wedding is your desire, this size group allows you the flexibility
of utilizing the sunny decks (IF they're sunny!) or enjoying the glow of the fireplace and candlelight
while the fabulous view floats beyond the wall of windows. The lower level game room is a great place
for the young ones to gather, or with a little ingenuity, a dance floor may appear. Inside dining is
casual, with the seating at tables, in the main great room and dining room for 36, and with additional
seating space for 14 more in the lower level cantina.
A Really Big Wedding?
If you have in mind a large wedding of over 100 people, the Ranch is not the place for the ceremony and
reception. But let me tell you how one couple chose to make the Ranch "the heart and soul of their
wedding". While the ceremony was held at a Breckenridge church, and the reception for 160 people was in
downtown Breckenridge, the couple enjoyed having their closest friends and family here with them at the
ranch. They planned a western style barbeque here for their rehearsal dinner for 40 people and made the
Ranch the central attraction for all guests. Since then, their idea has spread...
Coordination and Private Chef
We are lucky to have an excellent wedding coordiantor and private chef available to our guests.
During Jana's career as a private chef for many prominent families, she has
had the opportunity to create every kind of dining experience, from cozy family style meals,
to lavish and elegant formal dinners. This may be your perfect choice for your dining plans;
for smaller weddings, rehearsal dinners, arrival night dinners, and any other parties and
events that you may contemplate.
A High Country Experience for Your Out-Of-Town Guests
Because you enjoy the ranch for at least 4 days, there are ample opportunities to share this unique
setting with your guests. Few people can hike a "fourteener" while vacationing for a weekend, but
with a short hike up our trails, guests will find themselves above the timberline, witnessing views
only seen by an elite few.
Photo Opportunities Galore
Photos of your wedding and reception will feature the most magnificent backdrop. Beyond the
windows and outdoor decks, the amazing view of Mount Lincoln, Mount Bross, and the Lake
Montgomery "Amphitheater" beacons. You can re-create the "white Christmas light" photo
found on our web site, posing among the many white light lit trees found year-round on the
property. If you dare to journey to the top of the trails above the home, you will find completely
pristine alpine meadows, valleys, and the back of Mount Silverheels, rarely seen by the "common folks".
A few minutes away, at Lake Montgomery, you will find the magnificent waterfalls and huge boulders which
make up the fabulous photo on our web site. Because you have access to all this for days, if your time
and budget permit you can schedule more extensive photo sessions before or after your wedding day, so as
not to consume all of your celebration time.
Three Requirements
We allow you freedom in all of your plans and other than our usual policies for renting the ranch, we only
require three things of our renters hosting larger parties.
First, the security deposit is increased to $3,000 due to the much higher risk for damage and loss associated
with large groups. Of course, this is fully refundable after your departure when all is fine.
Second, for the safety of your guests and our property, we require our Ranch Manger's paid supervision
during the set-up, the ceremony, and a portion of the reception. This will ensure that mechanical
and logistical issues are handled. Every wedding requires this supervision, as well as every party or
event with over 25 attendees. The fee for one event is $250, the fee for two events is $350. This will
be payable to the Ranch at the time of the final rental payment. Additional wedding planning and coordinating
assistance is available to our brides at an hourly rate. Types of additional assistance include vendor
coordination, rehearsals, and coordination of the wedding such as 'walk down the isle', music, etc.
Third, we have found that additional housekeeping is required upon checkout when entertaining large
groups. Therefore we require and cleaning/impact fee of $250 for one event and $350 for two events to
help offset these costs. If there are two cleaning fees (I.e., Dinner Friday Night & Wedding
Saturday), there will be some cleaning between events, a maximum of three man-hours. The majority
of the cleaning will occur after check-out. This is also payable to the Ranch at the time of the final
rental payment.
